Don’t fall victim
I got that day job to please my parents because I felt like that’s what they wanted me to do…. Fell victim to the pressure lol. But listen, it ain’t the end of the world, trust me.
So check this out, I feel like we make a lot of decisions, large and small, based on the pressures of society, family and life in general. At the end of the day, this life is yours so you shouldn’t feel pressured to make a decision based on how someone else is going to feel about it.
Now I’m not saying don’t listen to the advice of others. What I am saying is that we must take control over our own lives. A lot times, we spend moments comparing our lives, our moves and our decisions to the lives of other people and we end up beating ourselves up for things that are transpiring in our lives. But listen my beautiful people, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, make decisions and moves thinking that you’re going to be able to please everybody….. it’s impossible!
The main messages I’m promoting this year is operating in your purpose and living life by your rules. I know they say pressure makes diamonds and all that jazz…. but pressure can also cause strain. If you spend all your time trying to please everyone, you’re going to drive yourself crazy.
There are tremendous benefits in living life by your own rules, trust me. And there’s so much freedom. Living life stress free and pressure free is amazing. Especially if you’re a 20-something like me. If you’re anything like me, you just want to make your parents and your family proud. You want to be one of those poppin’ ass people from Instagram. You want to be a #BossBabe. But guess what, IT’S SO MUCH PRESSURE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES! My vision board for the last 3 years has been focused on the words Money, Power and Respect. I’ve been personally pressuring myself to become this #SuperRae that I created in my head.
It wasn’t until I took the time to meditate, pray and learn my spirit, that I realized that I already have all those things. It wasn’t until I figured out how to operate on my own timeline that I realized that I am immensely powerful. I have the power to influence without even trying. I set trends effortlessly. There are young women that clock my every move and watch how I operate in hopes of applying those same moves to their lives. I have literally peeped people using my vibes to learn to operate in their own callings. So you see, all this time I’ve been trying to gain money, power and respect, when it’s already there.
But sometimes you can’t see these things because you’re blinded by outside pressure….
So check this out, the moral of the story is this, you are the only person that has to live with the decisions you make in your life. Not moms dukes, not your grandparents, not your mentors…. BUT YOU!
Choose wisely, always. Operate on your timeline. Stay in your lane, And don’t feel pressured to please…. because it’s a trap lol!
